The parish of Pawlett is situated near Bridgwater in Somerset and encompasses the village of Pawlett and the hamlet of Stretcholt.

The Parish Councillors are elected by parishioners every 4 years and represent the people of this community. The Parish Council is a statutory consultee for local planning applications and liaises with the Sedgemoor District Council, Somerset County Council and local police on matters of crime, security, traffic, maintenance, repair, and improvements of highways, drainage, footpaths, public transport, and street cleaning. It is also responsible for the maintenance and repair of some parish facilities.
